LYDON STILL UPSET WITH 'SILLY FAT KIDS' GREEN DAYLATEST: SEX PISTOLS frontman JOHN LYDON has repeated his criticism of GREEN DAY, insisting the trio would not have survived when punk was at its height. Lydon has become a scathing critic of BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG's San Francisco, California group, calling them "plonk" in a recent interview, and now he insists the trio are just "silly fat kids." The GOD SAVE THE QUEEN rocker says, "(They're) sticky tape on a duck's a**e. "They wouldn't have survived it (punk heyday). We had to earn the wings. We made it easy for them to come in and nick things from us. Silly fat kids. "It was hard times we went through for them to come and nick our ideas."

Rotten rants at Green Day
FORMER SEX PISTOL JOHN LYDON has a few harsh words for modern day punks GREEN DAY.
The foul-mouthed singer, aka JOHNNY ROTTEN, reckons the American band would not have made it during the original punk era in the Seventies.
He said: “They’re sticky tape on a duck’s ar*se.
“They wouldn’t have survived it. We had to earn our wings.
“We made it easy for them to come in and nick things from us. Silly fat kids.
“It was hard times we went through for them to come and pinch our ideas.”

Johnny Rotten: 'Green Day Are Silly Fat Kids' Who steal ideas...by Scott Colothan on 3/15/2006 Photo by: Shirlaine ForrestEx Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten has launched a fresh trade against Green Day. The singer believes that Green Day wouldn’t have had a leg to stand on in the punk heyday and that they have since nicked punk’s ideas. He blathered: “They’re sticky tape on a duck’s arse. They wouldn’t have survived it. We had to earn our wings. “We made it easy for them to come in and nick things from us. Silly fat kids. “It was hard times we went through for them to come and pinch our ideas.”

My fat ass could have done without the fat comment ;D But I DO get what he is saying, he DID pioneer punk, and it was HIS band's blood, sweat, and tears <----a band?---that crafted the "scene" that Green Day are latching onto. But then again, John, don't you think that some fans might become musicians and want to emulate bands they admire most? Compliment? Maybe? John? {S4J just bows and backs slowly away}
