Clash Biography Set For ReleasePublished: 2004-10-21The true story of one of the world’s most beloved punk band’s will soon be available for fans to read for themselves. On November 11th the biography of The Clash will be put on the shelves of bookstores around the globe. The book, titled ‘Passion is a Fashion: The Real Story of The Clash’, was written by Pat Gilbert, who was an editor at the music publication Mojo magazine. In addition to extensive research centering on the punk band, the biography also includes interviews with each band member, road crew, management, and entourage, among others. ‘Passion is a Fashion: The Real Story of The Clash’ will not only touch on The Clash’s musical career, but their political life as well. There will be 16 pages of the book devoted to pictures of the band as well. Together for a decade, The Clash were fronted by vocalist/guitarist Joe Strummer. Releasing a number of highly influential albums in such a short time together, The Clash are consistently sited as one of the best punk bands of all time. Hailing from London, The Clash rebelled against institutional ideas, and stationed themselves as a voice for the plight of the common man. Leaders of the punk movement, the most well-known album the four-piece ever released is 1979’s ‘London Calling’, which was just released as a special 25th anniversary edition. Writer: Jaclyn Arndt
