Do you think Vicious White Kids would have lasted if Nancy hadn't died? Do you think Sid and Glen would have put out a record? Ousted Malcolm? This is all conjecture of course........but.....has anyone else wondered?

God no! Malcolm had nothing to do with the Vicious White Kids and they was only put together for a few shows. I have some of their live stuff on vinyl. Unfortunately Sid wouldn't have held it together long enough for the band to have any longevity, his heroin addiction was way out of control by then and it was only a matter of time before he ended up dead.

Yes, I know they weren't together long and were probably viewed as just a novelty act, but I think if Sid hadn't been so sick they COULD have worked well together creatively. Glen is one of those rare people happy to create in the shadows and let a large personality project his visions on stage.........even going so far as to let John re-interpret many things he had first conceived of........do you really think Sid was just doomed or do you think time just ran out for him?

Most stars who use heroin are doomed. John Belushi, Ian Curtis, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison (many think he died of a heroin overdose rather than a heart attack) and maybe later, Pete Doherty (watch this space!).

Good point Fuggle........I am one of those that believe that is what happened to Jim........I just wondered what might have been and I guess that could be said over and over too

Unfortunatly for Sid, a big part of people's attraction to him was his live fast, die young style of life. He was his own worst enemy! I am a huge fan but I am ashamed to say that I was in love with the image rather than the person. He was void of talent and couldn't even play his bass guitar very well but when all's said and done, this boy/man(?) has reach legendary status and in doing so has become a legend. He is the ultimate snarling, purile, rock and roll star. Not bad for someone who couldn't play!
