Punks' bit of paper worth £600

A SCRAP of paper could be worth hundreds of pounds.
And it has recalled memories of a musical milestone in Huddersfield.
The paper was signed by the Sex Pistols when the classic punk band made their final appearance in the UK in the town on Christmas Day, 1977.
It is expected to fetch up to £600 when it is auctioned at Christie's in London on Thursday next week.
The valuable memento - a Virgin Records With Compliments sticker featuring the early Virgin logo - is signed in blue ballpoint pen by bassist Sid Vicious, singer John Lydon as Johnny Rotten and drummer Paul Cook. Guitarist Steve Jones signed in black felt-tip pen.
The autographs of Britain's most famous and most notorious punk rock band were obtained at Ivanhoe's, the former Huddersfield club where the Sex Pistols staged their historic farewell UK gig.
A spokesman for Christie's said: "The Sex Pistols were due to play a gig during the afternoon for the families of striking firemen.
"It turned into a boisterous party, resulting in a huge mess which had to be cleared in time for the evening gig.
"In return for helping to clear up, two friends were given free tickets for the gig and obtained the signatures during the clean up operation."
The Sex Pistols became one of Britain's most controversial groups in the late 1970s.
Music historian Donald Clarke said: "They made no bones about musical shortcomings. Their object was to make rock 'n' roll dangerous again.
"They built a following and signed with EMI and planned to headline a punk UK tour.
"They became famous through being obnoxious on a TV interview show."
Their big hits included the first single, Anarchy In The UK, God Save The Queen - released in the week of the Queen's Silver Jubilee celebrations in June, 1977 - and Pretty Vacant.
A little over a year after performing in Huddersfield, Sid Vicious (real name John Simon Ritchie) was dead at the age of 21.
In October, 1978, his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, was found dead in the couple's New York hotel room.
Sid was charged with murder and bailed. He died from a heroin overdose on February 2, 1979, while awaiting trial.
