SEX PISTOLS BOYCOTT ITALY AND DENMARK
LATEST: SEX PISTOLS frontman JOHN LYDON is reportedly keen to reform the punk rock icons for one final hurrah - but there are certain countries he won't return to. Reports swirling around the group suggest Lydon - aka JOHNNY ROTTEN - and his former bandmates are looking to revive their legacy with dates in Japan. But, speaking on Pistols guitarist STEVE JONES' Los Angeles radio show, JONESY'S JUKEBOX, on Friday (10MAR06), Lydon refused to confirm the plans, stating instead that, at 50, he wouldn't be able to stomach another long tour. He told Jones, "I miss the Pistols... I miss the lot of you, but when I came home from the last tour I couldn't get adjusted. I felt really out of place it took me a long time to get back to a real way of life. "On tour, it was 12 hours of panic for an hour-and-a-half gig. I'm vomiting all day long with fear, stagefright, whatever it is." Meanwhile, Lydon and Jones are agreed on never returning to Denmark or Italy with the Sex Pistols after they became targets of bottle throwers on their FILTHY LUCRE tour a decade ago. Jones recalled playing at Denmark's Roskilde Festival: "We went on... and there was one little mob that kept slinging these big cider bottles at us... so we left after four songs. That was the worst gig ever." Lydon added, "I ain't gonna get blinded by some coward getting away with that. If you're gonna pay money to go and blind someone you're the sort of person who needs to be put away for life. "In Italy, there were these travellers and some of them were little kids and these Italians were trying to throw beer bottles to hurt these little kids."
